Our skin reflects our diet immediately. When we consume fatty, sugary, and processed foods – our skin is likely to become puffy and rough in texture. To maintain a youthful, glowing skin, it is very important for us to take the necessary steps. Maintain yourself and eat right to sustain your beauty:

1. Water:




Consume lots of water. Water is vital to help us flush out toxins and keep our skin clear and hydrated. And yes, the “8 glasses a day” rule is perfect for a perfect skin!

2. Nuts and Seeds:




Almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts are rich in short-chain Omega-3 essential fatty acids, which inhibit the accumulation of fats in our artery walls that instigates angina, strokes, and heart attacks. Nuts, especially almonds are high in amino acid arginine, which help prompt the body to release vital hormones, stimulate sexuality, increase lean muscle mass, burn fat, lower our cholesterol, and boost the immune system.

3. Yogurt:




Yogurt is good for sensitive skin. It is loaded with pro-biotic and lactic acid to help soothe and calm any redness and inflammation.

4. Almonds:




Almonds deserve a special mention. They are a wonderful source of antioxidants that help maintain healthy skin. Moreover, they fight free-radical damage that leads to fine lines, wrinkles, dullness and sagging skin.

5. Chickpeas:




Chickpeas are high in complex carbohydrates and dietary fiber. It helps in lowering cholesterol and due to its high fiber food content, helps prevent blood sugar levels from rising too rapidly after a meal, making these beans a good choice for individuals with diabetes and prevents hypoglycemia. They are an excellent source of protein which provides all the amino acids necessary to make a complete protein filled diet especially for vegetarians.

6. Cinnamon:




Cinnamon helps stabilize blood sugar because it stimulates insulin receptors and inhibits an enzyme that inactivates them. Just one gram Cinnamon a day results in 20 percent drop in blood sugar level. It also reduces bad cholesterol and keeps your triglyceride level in control.

All in all, what we eat is what the world sees. It’s pivotal to always remember that beauty is something that comes from the inside. What we consume directly affects the appearance of our complexion and determines how well we age. How our plate looks is how our body looks from inside.

Each meal should contain the three crucial components to a good diet:

Protein, healthy fats and good carbohydrates derived from nuts such as almonds, walnuts, fresh fruits and vegetables. Not only will these nutrients yield beautiful skin, but they also have protective and preventative qualities that slow the aging process. Be beautiful and stay young inside out!
